Day Three Hundred and Nineteen

I got this shopping with my sister yesterday and had it on in my car during the commute to work today. A selection Oasis' singles from 1994 to 2009. Listening to it took me right back to when I was just starting at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in '95, right through my teenage years, life at Keele University, travelling in America in '05 and '06 and when I lived briefly in Bangkok. A lot of memories and a lot of rocking anthems, needless to say my car stereo got louder and louder and louder....

Day One Hundred and Seventy-Four

Whilst cooking up some dinner for Amanda and myself I loaded up some decent radio, it was refreshing to hear some quality music for a change. Those that have never been to America have yet to learn that its near impossible to listen to a radio station for more than an hour without them playing Sweet Home Alabama or American Pie or exceedingly long commercial breaks!

Day One Hundred and Sixty-Five

Final morning in New Orleans before I jump on a plane to Utah. We checked out Magazine Street and Jimmy's store 'New Orleans Music Exchange'. As tempted as I was to buy myself a little travel guitar I resisted and headed off to the airport.

Day One Hundred and Sixty-Three

From Beale Street to Broadway. Last night we were on Beale Street home to many talented musicians hoping to be the next great story, today we experienced the greatest story of them all. The King.

I've got a few photos from today, but I couldn't resist it. We went to Graceland, the home of the King. It was a pretty mixed event, seeing where Elvis lived, learning a lot about his life (both public and private) and being in awe of his wealth of awards of success and recognition. But it was also a pretty emotional experience, knowing it was one of many great talents cut short, particularly by the side of his house where he is laid to rest.

Day One Hundred and Thirty-Seven

CAMPLIFIED! Today's special event at camp was a concert with a number of up and coming American music acts. To open the show though, George, Joe and Michael warm up the crowd with a original number.
