Day Sixty-two

Working as the elected councillor for Totteridge in east Wycombe has been a great privilege. I am a firm believer that the fabric of a strong society is good community. In Totteridge I was able to work with many people in the community who dedicate a lot of time to various organisations. Although I resigned from my position as councillor a few months ago its taken a little while to close everything off and this evening I had my final responsibility as chairman of East Side Youth Centre.

It's very easy to miss all the good work that people do for the good of their communities, either as their careers or as volunteers. It's very easy to take for granted the facilities that are around us too. Though none are there by chance. Working with these people over the past three years has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

Day Forty

With just ten days until the General Election I'm out on the campaign trail. This is a new park we work to create whilst I was councillor in Totteridge.

Day Fourteen

It was only matter of time before I came to write some of political news on the blog. Following my resignation as councillor for Totteridge a new Conservative Party candidate to stand to the resulting by-election had to be selected. So here's our man, Lakshan....

Day Ten

So I may not be a councillor or politician any more but it seems the community work hasn't ended yet. "Spotlight East Wycombe" is a community newspaper that I have written articles for and also deliver around my streets in East Wycombe...this morning in the rain!

Day Four

I'm lucky to live where i do. Even though sometimes all we seem to experience is being stuck in the traffic jams or woken up by the first train at 5:30 each morning, it only takes a short walk to see another side of Wycombe. Today's photos are taken right in the heart of the town in an area known as The Rye.
