Day Three Hundred and Forty-one

After last night's disappointing performance at the Wycombe Swan Theatre, we were hoping for for a much better display at Adam's Park. Though, until today Wycombe had lost three straight games, so I was filled with much optimism. If football has taught me anything though, its never give up hope. Tonight it paid off, a 4-1 thrashing of Burton was just what we wanted!

Day Three Hundred and Twenty-four

Wycombe are flying high in the league right now, second in the division and surely surely on a course for promotion this season. Today we hosted Port Vale, another team battling hard for promotion. It was an entertaining game, finishing tied with a goal a piece, but not without drama including a great solo effort goal by Scott Donnelly for Wycombe, an own goal by Leon Johnson and a fabulous penalty save by Nikki Bull.

Day Three Hundred and Twenty

I took a trip down to Adams Park to watch high flying Wycombe beat Cheltenham 2-1 tonight.

He's too fast for my camera, this is Matt Bloomfield, a true Wycombe Wanderers legend, taking a corner in the second half.

And yes, referee, that fuel was outside the area, don't you even think about giving a penalty against us!

Day Forty-five

Terrific support for Wycombe Wanderers away at Leyton Orient today, only a win would do to avoid relegation to the bottom level of professional football once again.

In this end it wasn't to be and its a sad day for Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. But that's the thing about football, you have to take the highs with the lows. Only those fans that stick around for the lows can truly understand the highs.

Day Thirty-eight

The penultimate home game of the season for Wycombe today, the stadium was full but the atmosphere was nervous. Surely anything but a win for Wycombe would mean relegation.

The last substitution and one final roll of the dice for Wycombe...

Wycombe 2
Swindon 2

Wycombe live to fight another day, but must win both of the two remaining games of the season to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

Day Seventeen

Football again today. Its getting painful watching Wycombe Wanderers now, reality of relegation has firmly set in. Whilst this may be one of the worst Wanderers team's I've seen in my 20 years as a supporter, it would be unjust to knock their effort on saturday. They played like a team that wanted so bad to win, but ultimately just aren't good enough.

This strike is from the pre-match warm up...

Day Three

Now then, I couldn't leave these out....its been a long and painful season being a Wycombe fan this year. Here's a rare moment of glory as Wycombe take a 2-0 lead at home to Exeter, though in typical Chairboys fashion this year, it was short lived as they blew it and the game ended 2-2.

This be my belated 'birthday' celebrations, and after watching dire Wycombe display was much required! Two of my favourite friends, Emma and Bulmers!
