Day Three Hundred and Fifty-nine

I'm all set to rock and roll! These came in the post, my starting number in a 10km race around the Olympic Village in East London in a couple of weeks time. By chance I also completed a nice 10km jog this morning, enjoying the beautiful early spring morning.

Day Three Hundred and Fifty

Is taking a photo of my computer screen cheating? Well, I make the rules, so no. And there was no chance of me taking my camera with my on my run today, it was so cold out!
This is the Nike+ software which records the pace and distance of my runs. Today was a comfortable 3.3 miles.

Day Three Hundred and Six

...I turn the corner at Cores End and there it is, the home stretch! This week I'll run the other way down the Wye Valley. Today I passed through Bourne End and to Little Marlow before returning, about 5 miles. This photo is from the final half mile of my run looking across the River Wye, and Slate Meadow.

Day Two Hundred and Ninety

After giving myself a 'month off' from training in December, I've started once again....this time with my new NikePlus running equipment! So far so good, despite it being minus 9 Celsius outside and running at almost 6000ft, I've managed a few miles.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Five

Mountain biking! This evening we donned our biking gear and heading out for a cycle. Its far cry from when I used to cycle (aka dodge crazy commuters) on my way to work in Slough. We took a pretty gentle route just out of town. It was so nice to be out of the town and into the countryside, the scenery around here is pretty awesome and I've already noticed how easy it is to take for granted. We're pretty lucky to be in this area of the world and here's proof that we did make the most of it rather than just pose my the truck with the bikes!

Day One Hundred and Sixty-One

Music City! After yesterday's drive through Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky we really are in a very different part of America from where I've spent the past three months. Today we explored the city, walked the country music walk of fame and sampled a local bar before spending the afternoon relaxing in the park with short run and a bit of footy.

This photo is the home of the Tennessee Titans.

Day One Hundred and Forty-Six

I took the camera out with me on my morning 3 mile run today. The only time to get some good exercise in at camp is before the kids wake up or after they go to bed. Its not all bad though, as sometimes it the best time of day to get away from it all. Here are a few shots...

The camp road

The famous junction for all the morning runners, "to turn or to go straight?"

I always make the turn for the longer run and end up in this park just inside Decatur boundary line

Day Fifty-four

Here is my biggest addiction....I can't begin a day without a good session at the gym. You won't find me anyway else at 6:30am on a weekday morning.

My trainer, Marie Warwick, took these for me (and she cunningly slipped in her advert on the wall behind me). Despite her inability to count and shoot together, and the apparent possession of a lying watch, she's done well to turn me from a fat blob to the Gun Show...
